Real Housewives of Beverly Hills stars and sisters Kim and Kyle Richards’ relationship has been in turmoil this season because of Kim’s strong friendship with villainous Brandi Glanville. The show drama has even affected their relationship off-camera. So much so that when they filmed the season 5 reunion two weeks ago, the sisters had not spoken in 4 months. Yes that’s right FOUR MONTHS!
As we previously reported, Kim’s pit bull Kingsley attacked Kyle’s daughter Alexia. The incident landed Alexia in the hospital and required surgery. Andy Cohen was quick to mention the attack when the sisters came face-to-face at the reunion.
“It was a very emotional and raw conversation as Kim described what had happened with the dog and Alexia,” an insider reveals. “But when she revealed that she hoped Kingsley could be trained to not be so aggressive, and returned to her home, Kyle just rolled her eyes.”
“According to Kyle, the dog needs to be kept away from her sister, and other people, because the animal is just too dangerous,” the source continued. “For Kim to even consider keeping Kingsley was appalling to Kyle because of the risk of further injury to others. Kim just refuses to acknowledge the dog is dangerous and still won’t give him up.”
“There were a lot of tears during the conversation, and it only adds to the ongoing rift between the sisters,” the source tells RadarOnline.
“While Kyle has publicly supported Kim keeping the dog since then, it’s very different behind closed doors,” the insider continued. “Kingsley, a pit bull, has a history of biting people, and Kyle thinks it’s just irresponsible to keep the dog. It doesn’t matter that the dog has been sent off to yet another trainer. In Kyle’s opinion, Kingsely is very dangerous and needs to be re-homed. Kim is choosing the dog over her family, and it’s absolutely appalling to Kyle.”
Kim “wants nothing to do with her sister right now,” the source said. “It’s just not about Kingsley. There are feelings of betrayal coming from Kim because she thinks Kyle didn’t come to her defense when there were questions about her sobriety during filming for the show.”
Kyle admitted how difficult it was seeing her sister at the reunion. In a new interview she reveals didn’t get out of bed for two days after the taping.
“The reunion was worse than Amsterdam,” Kyle told E! News. “I didn’t leave my bed for two days after the reunion. I couldn’t go anywhere. It was just so upsetting.”
Our insiders exclusively tell us that Brandi Glanville has also been a reason the sisters went so long without speaking.
“Brandi and Kim’s friendship has affected the sisters,” says our source. “Kyle wants nothing to do with Brandi after the things that happened while filming this season of the show. Kyle thinks Brandi is using Kim to make herself look better and is intentionally driving a wedge between her and her sister.”
