Earlier this week Riothousewives.com had the privilege of being able to interview Blood, Sweat and Heels newest lady, who just so happens to also be our favorite cast member, Arzo Anwar. Arzo who is a Celebrity stylist, has hustled her way up to the top of the fashion industry, and in 2005 was able to open a contemporary women’s multi-line showroom that is located in New York City called Blend Showroom.
Arzo opens up to Riot Housewives about her initial opinions of the other ladies, she also responds to OK Magazines interview with Chantelle, in which she claimed that Arzo lacked a moral compass. Arzo opens up about how she felt when Chantelle called her an Afghan Hound and why she thinks Chantelle is a slick racist.
Riothousewives.com : Did you find it difficult to fit in with the other women from Blood, Sweat, and Heels when you first met them?
ARZO ANWAR: Melyssa is my friend and how I was brought into the circle. I went in open-minded and was excited to meet all of them. I had met Daisy a year before and definitely liked her…and really felt a great vibe with Demetria off the first meet. Mica also seemed like a lot of fun.
Riothousewives.com: Being a native of Kabul, Afghanistan and on top of that being a women, did you find it difficult to begin your contemporary woman’s multi line showroom business, Blend? What would you suggest to other woman who are trying to start their own business, and who are also trying to get past the idea that men control the business world? Do you think things are different then they where ten years ago in the business world?
ARZO ANWAR: Fashion is the one business that is pretty much a woman run business so no I didn’t find it hard being a woman..but of course anyone that decides to open up a fashion business is going to have to be a strong leader, super hard-working and constantly on trend. I opened blend showroom 10 years ago solely as a sales showroom and have branched out into celebrity styling, pr, fashion show production, and consulting. I think things have changed in terms of men & women in the work place in the last 10 years, but there is still a tinge of a mans word in business being stronger than a woman, but fashion is a place where women rule.
Riothousewives: What business ventures are you currently involved with?:
ARZO ANWAR: I have launched my personal website www.arzoanwar.com in addition to www.blendshowroom.com that we have had for 10 years so check that out. We are currently working on an E-commerce site for blend showroom so you can buy our hottest trends in addition to all the accessories & hand jewelry I’m known for.
Riothousewives: In an interview with OK Magazine on April 23rd Chantelle Fraser had called you “classless” and claimed that you “lack a Moral Compass” Do you think Chantelle said this to get the focus off herself and her racist Afghan comment, Is she jealous of you, or simply afraid that she wont be asked to return therefore creating drama to stay relevant?
ARZO ANWAR: I think Chantelle is obsessed with me. I think if you have watched me on the show you wouldn’t use the word classless or lacking moral compass, lol. I think Chantelle is thirsty and her desperation for attention is hilarious. She isn’t very interesting or have much of a story line so she tries to stir the pot to keep herself in the mix..not to mention I think she is dumb as a box of rocks. I think her afghan hound comment was an ethnic slur and yes she tried to back track and find anyway she could to crawl out of the hole she dug herself in. Would it have been okay if the tables were turned for me to call her a name beginning with her skin color? I think not.
Riothousewives.com: How did you feel when Chantelle called you an Afghan Hound?
ARZO ANWAR: I was offended and dumbfounded by her hate speech and I found her tactless for not knowing that you just don’t go there, especially if you consider yourself so worldly and a successful business owner. You don’t use skin color, race, or ethnicity before you call anyone a name….it changes the dynamics and turns it into hate speech period.
Riothousewives.com In her Bravo TV blog Chantelle was asked if she felt like your apology was a sincere one. She replied, “In the moment it felt sincere, and we had a nice time for the rest of the trip. Our pogo stick competition was fun, and we had a few laughs. However, subsequent interactions, including her continued name calling, leads me to believe that this belief was misguided” Was your apology sincere to her and was hers to you?
ARZO ANWAR: Her apology was about as sincere as a fake persons can be, I know mine was sincere. If hers was sincere, she could’ve been big enough to know she was wrong, and she would not have continued to hold onto her sorry excuse that she was speaking about a dog, she’s weak and bat shit crazy.
Riothousewives.comWhy do you think she continues to throw jabs at you while at the same time saying she wants Afghan-gate to go away?
ARZO ANWAR: This proves my point more that she is a slick racist…and yes I called her a slick racist before she called me it, check twitter…if she was speaking of a dog then why go into Afghangate? BTW what does that mean…? Again using my ethnicity in one of her dumb ways of expressing herself. I had called her that on my twitter way before she went and used my wording. Chantelle is the slick racist and thinks that reverse racism is okay and tries to justify it…its really sickening actually.
Riothousewives.comHow did you feel about her response to the reasoning of her apology to you, Chantelle claimed in her blog, “I apologized to her, because she seemed genuinely hurt by my comment. I didn’t realize Arzo was that sensitive considering how quick she is to dish insults out. It got to the point where she was continuously jabbing insults at me as a result of our initial argument. I like to live in the present. I simply got bored of ‘Afghan hound-gate."”
ARZO ANWAR: Chantelle is so insecure and the funny part is she doesn’t even know me personally. The only thing sensitive are those ratchet edges she has. She is the one that looked ignorant, racist and like a big donkey by making that statement, not me. I choose not to fuck with her because she just isn’t a good person.
Riothousewives.com: Why is Chantelle bat shit crazy?
ARZO ANWAR: She is the perfect definition of ‘thirst bucket’. Not only is she fake so are her twitter followers. Take away her trying to throw shade, you are left with her, her dog milkshake and a bottle of champagne on her couch…BORING, BORING!
