Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Brandi Glanville showed her support for her friend Kim Richards when she appeared on the For Cryin’ Out Loud podcast earlier this week.
The podcast was recorded before Kim’s interview with Dr. Phil aired, but Brandi told hosts Lynette Carolla and Stefanie Wilder-Taylor: “I feel bad for her. It’s a disease you fight every single day. Every day you have to make the choice not to drink, not to do drugs. It’s tough… I know every day’s a struggle.”
“My thing is, you can’t help somebody that doesn’t want help. And if they say, ‘I’m fine,’ then in their head, they’re fine,” Brandi continued. “And there’s nothing you can do until they say ‘I want to get help. I think I have a problem.’ … Until she says it herself: ‘I need help,’ I’m just her friend. Period.”
Brandi clarified that she never saw Kim drink or use drugs. “I never saw her drink, I never saw her do anything. I never saw her do a drug,” Brandi says. “Did I see odd behavior? I did.”
“Until she says to me, ‘There’s something wrong. I need help,’ it’s not my place to go and say, ‘You have a problem,’ because all that does is shut me down to her, she walks away from me and then she has nobody.”
