Amber Marchese Gets Partial Mastectomy

As we previously reported, Amber Marchese’s battle with breast cancer has come back after five years of being cancer free. She has shared with fans her recent health issues, and husband Jim is now speaking out to E! News on his wife’s recently procedure- a Partial Mastectomy.


Amber has successfully undergone he surgery and has removed the tumor that was found on her breast. “The surgery was close to four hours. They removed the tumor and more than 20 millimeters surrounding it. She was in a good deal of pain last night, but she’s been resting and she’s coming home today. After this, she’ll have five weeks of radiation and then another surgery.”


Although the Real Housewives of New Jersey star is going through a difficult time, Marchese shares that her fan support is helping her most. “She’s really appreciative of everyone’s thoughts and prayers. She’ll be back on her feet in a few days. She’s going to keep going and keep fighting.”


Being that this is the second time Amber has gotten treatment for the cancer, as she underwent a double mastectomy before, she recently revealed that this is not a common occurrence for other women. “This is not common. I want people to understand that. My case is not the average case.”


Amber also spoke to E! News about her cancer re-appearence saying, “I’m going to handle this with grace, positivity and faith. I don’t know why this is happening to me, but it is. So I have to turn it into an opportunity to raise awareness. Some good has to come from this.”
