blood-sweat-and-heels-daisy-closet-tour-02

Daisy Lewellyn star of Blood, Sweat, and Heels opens up on her battle with cancer and finding strength through God during her latest Bravo TV interview. We learn that she found out she had cancer days following last year reunion, she admits that it was beyond difficult to have to tell Mica that she has the Big C as she calls it. And finally Daisy talks about how her cancer is a “beautiful journey” and she’s able to find the purpose of her pain…..hmmm tell that to the millions of people who have lost someone from cancer…

Bravotv.com: What have you been up to since we last saw you?

Daisy Lewellyn:
Just days before the reunion, I had been hospitalized for almost a week. I didn’t event think I was going to be able to attend the reunion. But thank God for grace and mercy.

But unfortunately after the reunion, I actually was hit with some sad news. I got news that I had the cancer, or as I call it, “The Big C.” So I have been trying to figure out how to face my first love, The Big C: My Career and now, The Big C: Cancer.

Bravotv.com: Was it difficult telling Mica about your cancer?

DL: It was beyond difficult. Mica is my girl! I love all of the girls, but I definitely have a super special place in my heart for Mica. We are always so happy, joking, and laughing, and just being so silly. Sharing The Big C news with her was uncomfortable, because it’s definitely not a laughing matter. She offered a lot of support and concern.

I got through it, and we were actually able to end the conversation with humor and plenty of hope.

Bravotv.com: Why did you describe cancer as a beautiful journey?

DL:
I think as we get older in life, we see that the toughest times in our lives make us the strongest. This journey with The Big C has been so eye opening. I have always had faith, but now I really, really have faith. I have gotten so much closer to God, because there have been so many times when I was helpless, and all I could do was rely on him.

So I’m able to understand the purpose in my pain. Hopefully someone else can learn and be inspired from my story. They can understand that you don’t have to throw in the towel when life gets tough. Find hope, peace, comfort, and love in God. He’s always ready & willing to help us all during the tough times in our life. I decided to turn my tragedy into a triumph.
